Provide Internet Access to Guests Based on Their Eligibility

Stay integrates with external internet service provider systems to provide internet access benefits to guests. When integrated with an internet service provider, the reservation details of the guests are sent from Stay and the internet service provider in turn confirms the eligibility of the guests. The internet charges are posted to the guest’s folio in Stay from the internet service provider systems.

The reservation details such as, room number, last name, and the confirmation ID of the reservations in In-House/Arriving/Departed status are shared with the external internet service provider systems.

The external system posts internet charges to the reservation’s folio using the transaction item configured in Stay based on the following conditions:

If the reservation folio is open and has no routing rule associated, the internet charges are posted to the default folio.
When a routing rule is associated, the internet charges are routed to the destination account/folio.
If the reservation has departed but the folio is open, the internet charges are posted to the default folio or routed to the destination account/folio accordingly.
If the reservation has departed and the folio is closed, the internet charges are posted to the house account configured in Stay for the internet charges.

The Internet Provider interface in the Interface Channel Management screen allows users to integrate with external Internet Provider Systems. This interface consists of the following sections:

Eligible Status for Reservation Lookup	Users can select the status of the reservations whose details must be sent from Stay to check the guest’s eligibility. Users can select from the following options: In-House reservations Arriving reservations Departed reservations
Default Transaction Item Post Charge As	This is a single-select drop-down list that allows users to select the transaction item using which the internet charges must be posted to the guest’s folio in Stay. The selected transaction item cannot be made inactive in Stay (Guest Accounting à Items à Transaction Items à Add/Edit à Active/Inactive). When users try to inactive the selected item, the following message is displayed: Item already mapped as default transaction code for charge posting.
Configure Break-Out Charges House Account	This is a single-select drop-down list that allows users to select the house account to which the internet charges must be posted when the reservation has departed, and the guest’s folio is closed. The selected house account cannot be closed in Stay (Search à House Account àStatus). When users try to close the selected house account, the following message is displayed: This House Account cannot be closed as it is associated with to POS. To close it, disassociate this account from POS in Interface settings.

This is a single-select drop-down list that allows users to select the house account to which the internet charges must be posted when the reservation has departed, and the guest’s folio is closed.

The selected house account cannot be closed in Stay (Search à House Account àStatus).
When users try to close the selected house account, the following message is displayed: This House Account cannot be closed as it is associated with to POS. To close it, disassociate this account from POS in Interface settings.
